Day-by-Day Itinerary

Please note that the below sample itinerary is not representative of your final itinerary (unless you choose not to personalize it further). The purpose of this itinerary is to provide you with a general idea of what your day might look like. Your actual day-by-day itinerary will be fully customized to suit your trip schedule and specific needs.

Day 1

Get ready for the trip of a lifetime! Today, you’ll take your flight to Milan, Italy. Upon arrival, you will go through customs and immigration. A representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration to transfer you to your hotel.

Fight the jet lag and head out to explore Milan. Start your visit in one of the city’s most magnificent spots, the Piazza del Duomo. This beautiful square sits in the heart of the city center and is where the Duomo di Milano resides. We’ve included a skip-the-line tour with rooftop access for you to see the most of this stunning church. The elaborate architecture is a true sight to behold, while the interior patterned tiling and stained-glass windows are spellbinding.

Day 2

Get up and out early today to head to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This glamorous arcade is one of the oldest shopping malls in the world, and is filled with the high-end shopping brands you’d associate with Italy’s fashion capital. Even if you don’t fancy shopping, the grand building is beautiful to marvel at.

Afterward, head to the Piazza dei Mercanti, another of Milan’s scenic squares. The once-bustling marketplace used to house the city’s merchants, but today it attracts visitors who come to see the beautiful Palazzo della Ragione and the Loggia degli Osii.

This evening, enjoy a traditional Italian meal at one of the many eateries across the city. You aren’t in Italy if you don’t have pasta for dinner!

Day 3

Today, consider a trip to the impressive Sforzesco Castle. This 15th-century castle is one of the largest in Europe and is one of Milan’s top attractions. Explore the grounds, see the huge castle gates and medieval architecture, then roam around the collection of on-site museums – you can see the works of Da Vinci, Michelangelo and more here.

Then head to Parco Sempione, a popular park situated behind the castle. Escape the bustle of the city as you make your way around the endless lawns, walking trails and ponds and the beautiful Arco della Pace.

Spend your final evening in the Navigli area, watching sunset over the canals.

Day 4

Today you’ll head to Lake Como via train, a journey that takes less than one hour. After checking in to your hotel, you’ve the rest of the day to explore Como.

Resist the urge to just sit lakeside watching the Alps across the lake! Take a stroll to Bellagio’s town square, the Piazza San Giacomo, and visit the Basilica, Villa Serbelloni, and the town hall. This evening, head to Bellagio Viewpoint, one of the area’s most popular attractions. Take in splendid panoramic views of the lake and hills as the sunsets, then head to one of the restaurants in the Old Town for dinner.

Day 5

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then consider perhaps add a sightseeing tour to your itinerary to see any attractions you missed the previous day.

Today, you’ll visit a villa winery in Domaso on Lake Como to experience an authentic family-run wine estate. Your visit includes a tour of the wine cellar followed by an amazing wine tasting session. Learn about the wine-making process, then taste carefully chosen wines and local produce you can’t find anywhere else.

Day 6

After breakfast, take a ferry to Menaggio, one of Lake Como’s three main villages. There’s so much to see and do in this village that you’ll want to make sure you get there early. The elegant lakeside promenade is a must-see, as are attractions such as the Villa Mylius Vigono, Piazza Garibaldi, and the Church of Santa Marta.

Start your tour of the town from Via Calvi and stop for souvenirs at the small boutiques and shops of local craftsmen.

Spend your final evening in Lake Como at a beautiful open-air restaurant with sunset views of the lake.

Day 7

Take the train to Venice today and make your way to your hotel. After checking in, we recommend you make the most of your included 2-hour sightseeing walking tour of Venice, so that you can get to know the city and be ready for a couple more days of exploring!

After your tour, take some time to wander the city’s maze of canals and backstreets at leisure. Don’t worry if you get lost – this is just one of the quirks of the city and you’ll get to see a plethora of hidden gems.

Day 8

Depart your hotel and make for St Mark’s Square to beat the crowds. Head to the Basilica for early morning mass, taking in the glimmering mosaics inside. Visit the Accademia gallery, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Frari basilica to see a collection of academic, artistic and religious artifacts.

No trip to Venice would be complete without a Gondola ride; be sure to hop aboard a gondola and take to the canals of the city, taking in beautiful architecture and history as you go. Just let us know if you’d like to add a gondola ride to your package and we can pre-book this for you – booking in advance will save you money.

Day 9

Explore Venice’s outlying islands today. Perhaps you’ll choose to visit Murano today, a Venice in miniature. Here, you can see the lagoon’s famed glass-blowing workshops and learn more about this fascinating technique. Burano is a quiet fishing village with beautifully-colored houses, while Torcello offers a glimpse of what old Venice would have looked like.

This evening, hop on a vaporetto to Rialto Bridge, timing your arrival to coincide with sunset. Enjoy a meal at an authentic Italian restaurant, then enjoy a leisurely stroll to Caffe del Doge to mingle with the locals while enjoying post-dinner ice cream and the best coffee in Venice.

Day 10

Sadly, your trip has come to an end. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then a representative will meet you at your hotel for your transfer to the airport.

Additional Days

Should you wish to add extra days to existing cities/destinations or add new destinations to your pre-designed package, you will be able to do so during the submission process. Note that this will incur additional planning fees per additional day at checkout. Your final package cost will also change depending on how many additional travel components are needed for the extra days.
