No matter what season you visit, Bruges, Belgium will always make an impression. Home to Belgian chocolate, beer, and other fine cuisines, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking for a romantic break.

If you’re visiting Bruges, head to the postcard-perfect backdrop of Rozenhoedkaai, one of Bruges’ most photographed areas. The spot boasts picturesque views of the canal, castle-like buildings, and a charming footbridge reminiscent of a fairy tale. Take a leisurely stroll or stop at one of the many bars and restaurants beside the water to watch the world go by. At night, the famous drooping willow tree of the nearby Quay of the Rosary is lit up, creating an enchanting glow on the canal beneath it. Be sure to take your camera to capture this enchanting and romantic scene.

For a daytime treat, consider a trip to Margaret Island, located on the Danube river. It’s a hidden gem in the city and, according to locals, one of the most romantic spots too. Take a picnic and stroll around the island, taking in the tranquil environment away from the bustle of city life.  By night, enjoy a candle-lit dinner and walk beside the river with the city’s landmarks lit up around you.
